Meeting with the German Ambassador to Poland
On Tuesday, May 12 in Warsaw, Minister of Sport and Tourism Andrzej Biernat met with the German Ambassador to Poland Rolf Nikel. Among the discussed topics was the candidature of Hamburg to host the summer Olympic Games in 2024. In September, in the city on the Elbe river, a referendum on the issue will be held. Our western neighbour wants to find out about the Polish experience related to the referendum in Kraków and the city’s withdrawal from bidding for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Minister Andrzej Biernat and Ambassador Rolf Nikel also discussed the issues of safety and security of sports events, sport support systems, and the upcoming European Handball Championship to be held in Poland on 15-31 January 2016.
