Jarosław Stawiarski
Born on 3 October 1963 in Kraśnik. He graduated from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin with a degree in history. He also completed postgraduate studies in management at the University of Warsaw. For many years he worked as a teacher in Kraśnik, and was the principal of the city’s Primary School No. 1. He has extensive experience in local government and as a Member of Parliament. He served as a councillor of the Kraśnik Powiat Council for two terms of office, as governor of the Kraśnik Powiat in 2002-2006, and as First Deputy Mayor of Kraśnik in 2011-2014. As First Deputy Mayor, he developed and implemented the programme Kraśnik – a City of Sport under which three new sports halls and other sports facilities were built locally, contributing to the development of sport among children and youth.
He was a Member of Parliament in the Polish Sejm’s 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th term of office. In 2015, he successfully stood for re-election as MP, receiving 15807 votes in the Lublin region. He was a member of the Sejm committees on: physical culture, sport and tourism; public finance; and administration and digitization.
