Closing gala of the European Week of Sport
On 13 October 2017 at 7 p.m., at the Bellotto Hotel in Warsaw the closing gala of the European Week of Sport was held, ending the third edition of the initiative in Poland. The event was attended by Minister Witold Bańka.
The gala’s participants were organizers of events held within the framework of the Week. Among the guests were Ambassadors of the European Week of Sport. During the ceremony, activities carried out in the period 23-30 September were summarized. During the Week, 416 sports events were held across Poland. They gathered nearly 80 thousand participants. The most active region was the Śląskie province where over 80 events took place. The Week offered a variety of events: the participants could take part in volleyball or football tournaments, bicycle trips, zumba or fitness classes, or learn to roller skate. An important part of the gala was prize presentation to finalists of the Be Active Awards competition and to winners of the EWS in my school competition. The next edition of the European Week of Sport will take place from 23rd to 30th September 2018.
