Partnership Cooperation between Poland and Germany

On 7 February 2010, under the patronage of the Minister of Sport and Tourism, a Partnership Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Polish Football Association and the German Football Association with the aim to implement a training project for coaches and trainers of junior and amateur sports teams.

Grzegorz Lato, the President of the Polish Football Association (“Polski Związek Piłki Nożnej”- PZPN) and Theo Zwanziger, the President of the German Football Association (“Deutscher Fußball-Bund” - DFB) are signatories of the agreement. Relevant documents were also signed by Adam Gieresz, the Polish Minister of Sport and Tourism.

The implementation of the project will begin in the first half of 2010 and will be combined with the UEFA Grassroots Programme.

The aim of the project is to work out an effective coaching model for children using the “My Pitch – Orlik 2012” infrastructure.

The idea of the project is to foster cooperation with the German football authorities and use their experience in coaching the youngest children at the age of 6 – 10 years (an innovative training project in Poland).

The project will be implemented in two stages. The first stage will include training for Polish football coaches. It will be complementary to the UEFA B course and will be intended for football coaches actively working in their regions selected by the relevant voivodship football associations. The training will be conducted by Polish and German trainers.

In the second stage, the trainers will be obliged to share their knowledge and newly acquired skills with coaches working at sport facilities developed under the “My Pitch – Orlik 2012” project.

The Ministry of Sport and Tourism will be responsible, among others, for co-funding the project.
