2009 Youth Sports Ceremony
On 3 February 2010, a ceremony summarising results of sports competitions among talented children and youngsters, held within the 2009 Youth Sports System, was held in the Warsaw Olympic Centre of the Polish Olympic Committee. Under the system, covering four age categories from sub-junior to young competitor, 3046 clubs from 844 municipalities and 365 poviats, representing all the 16 voivodships, have been classified.
During the 2009 Youth Sports Ceremony awards were handed out to 66 best entities:
1) top 10 clubs in the general classification;
2) top 6 student sports clubs;
3) top 10 municipalities and poviats in the general classification (this category comprised both municipalities and poviats);
4) top10 poviats with population up to 80 thousand;
5) top 6 municipalities with population up to 20 thousand, and top 6 municipalities with population between 20 and 50 thousand;
6) top 6 clubs from municipalities with population up to 20 thousand, and top 6 clubs from municipalities with population between 20 and 50 thousand;
7) top 6 voivodships in the general classification.
All the entities received commemorative cups. The 17 best sports clubs received awards from the Minister of Sport and Tourism, for the total amount of PLN 835 thousand, to be used for new sports equipment for youth sections.
The awards went to:
- top 10 clubs in the general classification,
- top 3 clubs from municipalities with population up to 20 thousand,
- top 4 clubs from municipalities with population between 20 and 50 thousand.
