Visit of the Head of the European Council’s Standing Committee for European Convention No 120 (T-RV)
Mr Paulo Gomes, Head of the European Council’s Standing Committee for the European Convention on Spectator Violence and Misbehaviour at Sports Events and in particular at Football Matches (T-RV), visited the Ministry of Sports and Tourism on March 22nd, 2010.
The agenda of the visit included a meeting with Undersecretary of State Tomasz Półgrabski, attended also by the Director of the Office for EURO 2012, Director of the Department of Professional Development, representatives of PL.2012 Sp. z o.o. and of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. The meeting focused on discussing issues related to the safety of sporting events in the context of organization of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament, including educational projects targeting spectators.
The meeting at the Ministry of Sport and Tourism was one of a number of items on the agenda of the visit of the representatives of the European Council’s Standing Committee for T-RV to Poland. The purpose of the visit was to provide advice and assess the issues of safety of the UEFA EURO 2012 tournament.
