Polish speedway riders are the world’s best once again
Polish speedway riders have successfully defended the Team World Cup. In the final competition in Vojens, Denmark, the Poles defeated the Danes, the Swedes and the British. This was the Poles’ first ever Team World Cup victory on a foreign racetrack.
The Polish team with Tomasz Gollob, Jarosław Hampel, Rune Holta, Janusz Kołodziej and Adrian Miedziński, scored 44 points, while the Danes, Swedes and the British scored 39, 35 and 33 points, respectively.
Victory in the tenth edition of the Team World Cup, which replaced the team world championships, was Poland’s fourth and was preceded by victories in 2005, 2007 and 2009.
