Jan Rudomina is new Chairman of European Travel Commission
New York, September 7, 2010, Jan Rudomina, Director of the Polish National Tourist Office, has been elected Chairman of the European Travel Commission. He succeeds Jean-Philippe Pérol, Director of Atout France.
With more than 30 years of experience in the international travel marketplace both in Europe and the U.S., Rudomina is a seasoned professional who has handled marketing and sales for large travel businesses including several prominent student travel organizations.
He has served on the steering committee of the International Student Travel Conference in Zurich, and was Vice President and Treasurer of the American Tourism Society in New York. He holds masters degrees in business management and engineering from both Polish and U.S. universities.
The European Travel Commission (ETC) is an association of National Tourist Organizations (NTOs). It was created in 1948 to promote Europe as a destination to long-haul tourism markets outside Europe. It currently has 39 members.
The representatives of the overseas offices of the European NTOs operating in the United States, Canada, Latin America and Japan join together to form an ETC Operations Group. In the United States, Operations Group is made up of 27 NTOs, which have permanent presence in the U.S.
