Leuven Conference under the auspices of the Belgian EU Presidency
The European Conference on Local Sports Participation: Social Inclusion & Combating Poverty will be held, under the auspices of the Belgian EU Presidency, in Leuven (Belgium) on October 13th and 14th. The main objective of the Conference is to promote sports activity in groups threatened by social exclusion.
Participants will include representatives of local authorities responsible for sport and representatives of social and cultural organizations from all over Europe. Workshop participants will try to find answers to questions related to the social role of sport, the importance of sport for all in local governments’ policies, and ways of mobilizing the public.
