The 52nd meeting of the UNWTO Commission for Europe (CEU) and Seminar on “Industrial Heritage in Tourism Policies for Sustainable Development”
The 52nd Meeting of the Commission for Europe and the Seminar on Industrial Heritage in Tourism Policies for Sustainable Development took place on 13 April 2011 (in Zabrze) and 14 April 2011 (in Katowice) respectively.
The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO/OMT) is a specialized agency of the United Nations and the leading international organization in the field of tourism. It serves as a global forum for tourism policy issues and a practical source of tourism know-how. UNWTO plays a central and decisive role in promoting the development of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism.
The Honorary Guest of both important events was Mr. Taleb Rifai – Secretary-General of the UNWTO. Mrs Katarzyna Sobierajska – Undersecretary of State, represented Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Poland. Together, representatives on 27 countries took part in these events.
The Seminar on “Industrial Heritage in Tourism Policies for Sustainable Development” was held on Wednesday, 13 April 2011, in Zabrze, from 09:30 hrs to 17:30 hrs. The Seminar took place at the Former Coal Mine Queen Luiza (Królowa Luiza), Hall “Pogoń”, 406 Wolność Street, 41-800 Zabrze.
