Meeting of the EU Council Working Party on Sport
The first meeting under the Polish leadership began with a presentation of the Polish Presidency’s priorities and schedule of activities in the field of sport.
The main discussion topic was the content of the background document prepared by the Polish Presidency on the European Union representation in World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the coordination of EU position prior to WADA meetings.
After coordinating the Member States’ positions on the proposed forms of the representation, the Polish Presidency will prepare a draft Council Resolution on the European Union’s coordination and representation in WADA meetings.
At the meeting, the Working Party members also received information and promotional materials on the activities of the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Polish Presidency in the field of sport.
Over the next six months the Chairperson of the Working Party, representing the Presidency, will be Ms Agata Dzianowska, a representative of the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism. She will be supported by Mr Rafał Piechota, the Working Party’s Vice-Chairperson. The National Delegate in the Party’s proceedings will be Ms Małgorzata Szukalska-Wrona.
