Polish holidays for children from Japan
The camp is also attended by 50 kids from Poland. During their stay at „Dojo Stara Wieś" all the participants take part in traditional karate trainings and other sports and recreation activities. The programme also includes Polish language classes. The organisers plan a number of attractions such as a rafting trip down the river Pilica and sightseeing trips to Kraków, Przedborze, Wieliczka and Warsaw. In the capital of Poland the camp participants will meet with the First Lady of Poland Ms Anna Komorowska.
The action, aimed at helping the kids from Japan, was initiated by the Traditional Karate Federation of Poland and the Traditional Karate Development Foundation. The project is supported by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Polish Embassy in Tokio, the Aikido Federation of Poland and the local government authorities.
The honorary patron of the project is Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. The president of the Honorary Committee is Lech Wałęsa, former president of Poland.
