Polish athlete named Sportsmen of the Year 2014
Mariusz Wlazły has received a prestigious award. The Polish volleyball player was honoured by the SportAccord organization as the Sportsman of the Year 2014.
The decision of the specialist jury was announced at the SportAccord awards gala ceremony in Sochi.
Last year, Mariusz Wlazły was voted the best player of the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship held in Poland, in which the Polish team won the gold medal, defeating the Brazilians, former World Champions. Wlazły was also the best player in competitions held within the country, winning gold with PGE Skra Bełchatów in the Championships of Poland and receiving the MVP award.
