The effects of EU subsidies in tourism

 

Unique projects to improve the image of Polish tourism were presented at the conference "Investments in tourism products of supra-regional importance" of the Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007-2013.

The conference was attended by Katarzyna Sobierajska, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Iwona Wendel - Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Regional Development, Rafał Szmytke - President of PTO, Andrzej Bojanowski - Vice President of Gdańsk, Jędrzej Nawara - Head of Strategic Projects at Wrocław Centennial Hall and Kajetan d'Obryn - Director of the Wieliczka Salt Mine.

Until 31 October 2012, the beneficiaries of Measure 6.4 OP IE were paid a total amount of PLN 332,184,376.22.The beneficiaries of the grants are:local and government administration, NGOs, chambers of commerce, foundations, non-profit associations and businesses.The total pool of funds under Measure 6.4 that can be used by project proposers is EUR 138 million.Projects that have received funding are indicated in the list of individual projects of the Minister of Regional Development (www.mrr.gov.pl).The minimum total value of the project is PLN 10 million.

I would like to thank the beneficiaries of the programme for the efficient and reliable delivery - said Minister Sobierajska in her speech. - I wish you all that these investments have become the most recognizable on the Polish tourist map – she added.

Managing Authority for the Operational Programme Innovative Economy is the Ministry of Regional Development.Polish Tourist Organization serves as the Implementing Authority.

Projects funded under Measure 6.4 "Investments in tourism products of supra-regional importance" are comprehensive supra-regional tourism projects with a unique character, linear and network projects, including investments in consistent infrastructure of tourism products and tourist attractions on the list of World Cultural and Natural Heritage or recognized by the President as the Historic Monuments.At present, 13 projects have been completed from among 21 accepted for implementation.
