Launching of the Universally Popular Sport Conventions
The use of sport infrastructure, physical activation, meetings with coaches and club officials are only some elements of the Universally Popular Sport Convention that will take place in all 16 voivodeships. The first one will be held on Thursday, 29 November in the Pomorskie Voivodeship, the next one - a day later in Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship.
-In order to remedy the Polish sport we should think of it as a system of communicating vessels. Currently, universally popular sport is a priority; without it, nothing good can happen – said theMinister of Sport and Tourism, Joanna Mucha, after the performance of Polish athletes in the 30th Olympic Games in London. This marked the beginning in the discussion on the changes in the structure and financing of the Polish sport.
As part of the planned reforms, apart from the change in the form of sport associations financing, the Minister of Sport and Tourism wants to emphasise the training diagnostics, coaching skills development and, above all, promotion of universally popular sport as well as the system of finding sport talents and working with them at the stage of school or academic sport.
During the 16 meetings in all voivodeships the Minister of Sport and Tourism will talk to the representatives of the self-governments, voivodes, representatives of schools and universities, coaches and sport clubs’ members. The meetings will, primarily, concern fuller use of the existing sport infrastructure and broadly-conceived physical activation. Joanna Mucha also intends to visit local sport clubs.
