The ministers competent for sport in the EU support the concept of the European Week of Sport.
On 27 November 2012 Joanna Mucha, Minister of Sport and Tourism, participated in a meeting of the Council of the European Union for Education, Youth, Culture and Sport held in Brussels.
The meeting primarily focused on the debate concerning the initiatives of the Presidency on the organisation of the Annual European Week of Sport. The EU ministers considered the idea as worthy of implementation. Moreover, the following documents have been adopted;
Conclusions of the Council and of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States, meeting within the Council, on strengthening the evidence-base for sport policy making.
Conclusions of the Council and of the Representatives of the Governments of the Member States, meeting within the Council, on promoting health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA).
In addition, three EU representatives (ministers from Ireland, Portugal and Luxemburg) were selected to join the WADA’s Foundation Board, i.e. world anti-doping agency.
